General Dangerous Goods Incidents
- 1The captain must be informed immediately.
- 2Identify the location and type of dangerous goods involved.
- 3Move passengers and crew away from the affected area.
- 4If in cargo compartment, reduce or shut off ventilation.
- 5Determine nearest suitable airport for landing.
- 6Notify ground services in advance (type of DG, UN number).
Fire / Smoke Events
- 1Initiate fire alarm procedure.
- 2Use Halon / BCF extinguisher (cargo compartment automatic system).
- 3Cabin fire: respond with portable fire extinguisher.
- 4Lithium battery fire: use water or water-based suppression (Halon is ineffective).
- 5Control the burning package by cooling.
- 6Cargo compartment fire: DO NOT open compartment door.
- 7Continue monitoring even after the situation appears resolved.
Spillage / Leakage Events
- 1Identify and isolate the spillage/leakage area.
- 2Prevent access to the affected area (including crew).
- 3If toxic substance spilled, use oxygen masks.
- 4If corrosive substance spilled, prevent skin contact.
- 5Radioactive spill: mark the area, keep everyone away.
- 6On landing, inform rescue teams about the spill.
